Role & Responsibilities

 

Role –

Unit Leader of Supply Chain is a critical position in Comviva Technologies , part of Tech Mahindra and larger Mahindra Group .

Direct reporting to Procurement Head of Commercial Centralised Procurement at TechM and administratively aligned to the CFO at Comviva.

This position will be instrumental in working closely with other leaders to develop and drive the vision and growth of the company, other Portfolio companies and Parent organisation.

The Leader will be responsible for creating and implementing best practice procurement across high value capex categories, global sourcing, category management, vendor management, supplier quality assurance, logistics across the country and international operations as well to aid and improve business performance through increase in productivity and efficiency which will essentially result into meeting businessobjectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets. Working in IT/ITES with SEZ/STPI related restrictions and regulatory requirements. Thorough understanding of the EXIM Policies Additionally, will also be responsible for leading multiple process improvement initiatives across the supply chain to support the growth plans of the organization across the Globe.

Responsibilities –

SCM Vision and Strategy -

Develop SCM Vision and Strategy, scan market environment for the latest developments in Supply Chain Management and identify leading practices in the industry that can technologically benefit Comviva to increasealignment of procurement plans to the overall business goals and expansion plans in across the Globe and enhance organizational effectiveness and cost efficiencies

Represent Supply Chain and Procurement in leadership meetings and interacting with all other functions with sound techno-commercial knowledge and process/policy understanding to ensure all business needs are met.

Planning and Decision Making -

Develop, monitor, and benchmark key supply chain and procurement performance indicators, and use these indicators while taking executive decisions related to Supply Chain and Procurement.

Review supply plan with Operations team to ensure that SCM team is equipped to deliver results as per the plan. Innovate and implement best practices for higher operational efficiencies Address any issues that may occur in carrying out SCM plan. Establish contingency plans for procurement sole source or critical items as well as supply chain plans to prevent supply interruption. Strong engagement with OEMs, and leadership level engagements. Review requirements have a deep understanding to analyse. Understanding of solutioning, fixed or SLA types of contracts, deep understanding of Software licensing models, hyper-scaler commercial pricing /costing methods, any quality reports, procurement & vendor performance review reports, assess and evaluate performance of procurement team.

Sourcing of Vendors, Development & Management -

Approve the process of supplier selection and ensure that supplier relationships are maintained and strengthened over a period of time. The Geographic spread and structures of OEMs, the norms of ISV relationships and restrictions on Hardware import rules by OEMs etc. Oversee vendor identification and selection process and act as the final approval for all vendors

Build long term vendor relationships that can be leveraged during situations of escalation

Develop the process for assessing and managing the Vendor performance and quality.

Oversee the execution of all contracts signed between Comviva and the vendors in collaboration with the Legal team.

Trade and Compliance and Logistics Management Seek and incorporate feedback from business team to gather expectations and resolve concerns.

Select and review performance of the third party logistics vendor.

Non IT Categories of Marketing Finance Legal HR, Insurance Management etc. - identification, selection and negotiate with agencies for insuring services / material deliveries.

Internal Customer Satisfaction -

Provide monthly activity and benchmarking reports to leadership as required.

Governance sessions with internal and external stakeholders

Supervise procurement across all categories and ensure that overall procurement cost is optimized.

Review reports and documentation by Partners.

Create policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements in procurement and vendor management.Creations and implementation of stakeholder transaction surveys and Perception surveys by Partners.

Savings

Key Objective to create savings within the entire enterprise supply chain and aggressively pursuing cost-saving opportunities.

Deep understanding of methods of savings methodologies and application of same

People Management and Development-

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification & Experience

The incumbent should be a B.Tech (MBA/SCM related degree preferred) or relevant field, with minimum 12 -15 years of experience in Supply Chain Management function.

Minimum 10 years of prior experience in leading the Supply Chain Management function for a mid to large sized firm, preferably within the same industry.

Experience in Global sourcing US, Canada, Europe, MENA/ Africa, AsiaPac SAARC counties will be an add on.
