Job Title: Machine Design Engineer

Job Summary:

DSS Automation Technologies Pvt Ltd is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD to design Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). The candidate will be responsible for concept development, detailed design, and manufacturing support while ensuring high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop SPMs as per project requirements.

• Create 3D models in SolidWorks and 2D drawings in AutoCAD.

• Perform mechanism design, material/part selection, and design calculations.

• Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.

• Work closely with the automation and electrical team for seamless integration of control systems.

• Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.

• Conduct DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to ensure reliability.

• Provide design support during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Requirements:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.

• Experience: 2-5 years in SPM design, fixture design, automation, or industrial machinery.

• CAD Software Expertise: SolidWorks and AutoCAD

• Strong understanding of mechanisms, pneumatics, LM bearings and rails, servo, sensors, panel design and motion systems.

• Knowledge of GD&T, material properties, and manufacturing processes.

• Hands-on experience with sheet metal, metal machining, welded structures, aluminium profile structure and machining processes.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Good communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in customised machine deisgn, industrial automation and mechanical systems.

• Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, and vision systems.

• Exposure to FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and motion simulation.
