Voicegain is a deep-learning-based Voice AI platform company based with offices in Dallas, Texas, Santa Clara, California nd Bangalore, India. We are rapidly growing Seed funded startup and our mission is to democratize Voice Conversational AI with a strong focus on CX. Using our flexible, easy-to-use and comprehensive set of APIs, developers can easily build intelligent voice-enabled applications to automate and extract insights from business conversations. Sample applications are voice bots/assistants, Real-time Agent Assist, voice analytics of sales and customer service calls and Zoom/MS Teams meetings. Voicegain offers high out-of-the-box accuracy that matches the big cloud providers like Google, Amazon and Microsoft that can be further improved by customizing the underlying models.

Who we are looking for

A Senior Java Backend Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of designing and developing the back-end services for highly scalable data-intensive SaaS applications and API-based products.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs that power our core product offerings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—Product, Frontend, DevOps—to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What we require

• Master's or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience and expertise (min 5 years) in Object Oriented Programming with Java (J2EE or Spring) and preferably some Python (Flask or Django) experience too building highly scalable backends for web applications
• Building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience in designing schemas, tables & queries in PostgreSQL and the data-access objects in Java and Python
• Experience with use of Redis for in-memory caching of key-value data-structures and MongoDB for NOSQL document storage
• Experience with GIT source code version control
• Ability to work independently and operate on their own to solve targeted technical problems.
• Ability to write clean modular & well documented code and sweat the details combined with a strict commitment to meet deadlines

Not absolutely required, but things we would love our candidate to know.

• Experience with netty.io, a asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers and clients
• Worked on gRPC, Websockets
• Spring Boot framework to build production grade Spring framework based Java applications
• Other skills that are a plus but not as important - Elastic-Search, Influxdb, Google Firestore
