
Sr Cloud Database Engineer
The Team
We are now looking for a skilled Cloud Database Engineer to join our Core Data Engineering team! The Core Data Engineering Team’s mission is to design, build and develop secure data pipelines that enables software development teams to easily access information, move fast, and draw meaningful insights during product development. The Core Team builds systems that process data reliably at scale to generate high quality datasets to support data driven decision making for the organization.
The Role
As a Cloud DB Engineer at Cint your will be the driver of improvement, optimization and turning of our production databases. Our cloud-based production systems and datasets are growing and becoming more complex and distributed geographically. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies, we always strive to be at the forefront of the latest tech stacks and tools used within our domain.
Your focus in this role would be:
- Ensure high availability and performance across all production databases in AWS.
- Migration of databases to new environment and scale up DB cluster for future needs.
- Upgrade databases to new version and apply security patches
- Be responsible for all aspects of managing and monitoring databases
- Continuously work with query optimization, testing and experimenting
- Strive for automation and work with scripting
- Proactively work with database reliability, security and capacity planning
With a remote-first mindset, you would join an international team with the possibility to work from our offices around the globe when needed.
Your Background
- You have worked as a DBA with MSSQL for at least a couple of years
- You have experience in modern ways of designing, building, optimizing and deployment of database workloads in public cloud, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- You have experience in Schema design and data modeling
- You have extensive background in programming, infrastructure automation and hands-on experience in scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, Go, Terraform)
- You are a driver in determining, implementing, and continuously improving the architecture and the security aspect throughout the systems, tools and workflows
- You have broad understanding of CI/CD tools and technologies like Jenkins/Airflow
- You have the experience migrating significant large databases from on-premise to cloud or running a hybrid cloud environment
- You bring experience working with Agile processes and practices
