Pivotal Tracker is the agile project management tool of choice for developers around the world for real-time collaboration around a shared, prioritized backlog. Using Tracker with a shared view of team priorities, a process that fosters collaboration, and dynamic tools to analyze progress, teams deliver more frequently and consistently. You will be utilizing your skill sets and experience building and maintaining deliverables to impact success of the Pivotal Tracker at VMWare. What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?  

• We are looking for a senior engineer with 8+ years of professional full stack web development experience who enjoys working on challenging problems and passionate about growing their skills in the pursuit.
• You need to understand how to architect and develop a complex, scalable full stack app on top of at least one popular web framework like Ruby on Rails, Sprint, React JS etc.
• You will be working in agile teams and development process involves a test driven development approach.
• We promote code to our cloud native production environment multiple times a day leveraging continuous integration and deployment.
• We work in small empowered teams and rotate between them frequently to gain ownership and understanding of the product and the team.
• This role will provide opportunities to work across the organization and will be a catalyst for technical and professional growth.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-9 months you will work toward completing?  

• Good understanding of Product & Development processes: You should be able to acquaint yourself comfortably with existing product code and development process involved and is passionate about sharing your knowledge and experiences with a collaborative, balanced team
• Ability to design, develop new features & perform incremental changes: When given a challenge, you research on the same, break them into deliverable parts and further you leverage on available resources to come up with a quality solution
• Enable continuous integration / continuous delivery: Code developed on an incremental basis should be promoted to production environment hosted in cloud on a regular basis

As part of the Tracker Engineering Team, you will be:

• Working on full stack web development projects following a test driven development approach. Knowledge and experience in JavaScript preferred
• Working in balanced agile teams consisting of all needed business functions
• Understanding how to architect a complex, scalable full stack app
• Using web frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Spring, React JS, etc
• Developing code and deploying them to cloud infrastructure production environment via CI/CD pipeline
• Owns the quality of work and is passionate about providing the best solutions possible for our customers
• Happy to help customer support, especially on hard-to-reproduce issues
